:bulletred: Is Paint Tool SAI free?

:pointr: No, it isn't. Paint Tool SAI is not a freeware software. Which means that after your 31 trial days expire you will need to buy the license to be able to continue using the program.

:bulletred: How much does Paint Tool SAI costs?

:pointr: Be glad! Paint Tool SAI not only is one of the best painting programs, it's also one of the cheapest. The price is 5250 [JPY] (taxes included) per 1 software license. That is the approximated value equivalent to:

- 69$ [USD]
- 48€ [EUR]
- 42 [GBP]

(Just use Google if you need to convert the price into other currencies)

:bulletred: How can I buy Paint Tool SAI?

:pointr: It's simple. To buy this software all you need to do is to buy the license file available in the SYSTEMAX (Paint Tool SAI developer) website. To do that you need to follow some fast and easy procedures:

- Read and Agree to the License Agreement
- Fill out the Ordering Form with the required information
- Check out your email for the ordering confirmation and copy the "Confimation N." there provided and paste it on its rightful place in the step 3 of the purchase process.
- Finally, pay for your purchase via PAYPAL. If you don't complete payment within the next 24 hours your order will not be consider valid anymore.

:bulletred: I've bought the License. How do I install it?

:pointr: After SYSTEMAX has received payment, you will receive an email with the license file attached. You must download it into some place in your computer where you can easily find it. Then, all you need to do is to copy it and paste it inside Paint Tool SAI's main folder (which means you have to have the program installed already). It's location can vary but usually it is under "C://Programs/Paint Tool SAI". After that, you don't have to do anything else. Just close the folder and next time you open your Paint Tool SAI, you will notice that the information about the trial days is gone. You have now a full and licensed Paint Tool SAI. Enjoy ;)

:bulletred: Is Paint Tool SAI compatible with Windows 7?

:pointr: Yes. But just like with Windows Vista, you need to run it as the administrator user [just right-click on Paint Tool SAI icon, and chose "run as administrator"]

:bulletred: Is Paint Tool SAI compatible with MACs?

:pointr: Paint Tool SAI was NOT developed to be compatible with MACs. But you may be able to run it (although it's not 100% guaranteed that it will do it properly) if you also have installed in your MAC a software that allows to emulate Windows intended applications in MACs and Linux systems. The most popular one is CrossOver . Sadly this application isn't free either. But you can download the trial to test it out. Don't waste your money if you see that it doesn't pay off.

:bulletred: Wrong Folders and more submission limitations

Hello fellow members and watchers!

It has come to our attention that a lot of our members don't understand what is a lineart and what is a tutorial or at the very least are very distracted. Some people sent their creations into these folders when they should be in on the "featured" folder currently available. Please do noticed what you are doing, otherwise we will be forced to decline your submissions.

Let's be reasonable here, it is not so difficult to understand that a lineart it's only the line of a drawing, which means, nothing is supposed to be filled in or colored; and a tutorial is the steps of a drawing or the explanation of how you got to that point of the drawing using a specific technique or tool(s).

Considering this, we decided to put an approval for these two folders "Lineart" and "Tutorial" and also the new folder "Animations". Submissions into wrong folder will be declined

On a different notice, please make sure that your submissions of artworks that do not fit into these categories are now done into "Featured 15" since all the others are now full. We will also like to warn you that we had to once again to restrict our current limits for submissions. Each member can now submit only one deviation per week (every 7 days). We are aware this might appear to be unfair. But considering the number of members this group has and how fast the folders are filling up, we have no other choice.

Thanks for understanding and please, do cooperate with us here so that the group experience can be even more enjoyable.

PS: Also make sure you check the group's FAQ section before you send us a comment or a note with a question. The answer to your doubt might be there already.
Thanks for the understanding.

Sorry if I seem to be a wiseguy, but as an emulator program on Linux, there is also wine, which is free and widely accepted... I am not sure, how much it supports SAI, but maybe it is a alternative to CrossOver...
Don't know about MAC, but.

Before I were to buy SAI, I was wondering, is the payment of licensing a one-time thing, a monthly payment, yearly, etc? I don't want to pay the money to only find out it lasts for a month or two.
obtusity Featured By Owner 1 day ago
It's a one-time payment (for use on one computer) for version 1 (currently at version 1.2).

There may be an upgrade fee, or a re-purchase, for version 2.0 if/when it eventually goes public -…

Awesome. Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I got the trial and have actually started getting kind of used to it, and it's much cheaper than buying a version of photoshop! I think I'll have to wait for a new computer though, unless I can have the installation on an external hard drive.

Sai runs fairly well on older hardware, and you can transfer it to a new computer when you get one (you are not blocked from updating your OS or hardware like some licensing systems) - you need to install the Sai trial on the new computer, get the new computer identification code from the trial version, then regenerate/re-issue your license file for the new computer on the Systemax web site, using your original purchase email address.

I ahve a question dear, I've seen other's with so many brushes on sai I have tried to make the brushes but do not have the texture's they do to alter a newly made brush to what i want it to do. Other time's the people who have made the speed paint videos told me that when they bought the license agreement it auto gave him the brushes like blend oil and others. Is this true?
